Job Title: Associate Chemist

We are seeking a highly motivated Associate Chemist to join our team at BCforward. As a key member of our Analytics and Materials Characterization group, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality, reliable data and solutions to support our researchers.

Job Summary:

The Associate Chemist will be responsible for analyzing preparations via XRF, ICP-OES, ICP-MS, and gravimetric methods. You will work in a high-pressure, demanding environment, performing sample preparation procedures for all materials produced by R&D, including battery materials, zeolites, and catalysts.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Leverage your background in Chemistry or a related scientific discipline to analyze preparations via XRF, ICP-OES, ICP-MS, and gravimetric methods.
  • Perform sample preparation procedures for all materials produced by R&D, including battery materials, zeolites, and catalysts.
  • Maintain quality control procedures to ensure the accuracy and precision of reported data, adhering to ISO9001 guidelines and ASI quality policy.
  • Develop new wet chemistry and instrument methods to match researchers' needs, preparing calibration standards and other working and reference solutions.
  • Investigate non-conforming data and institute corrective actions, utilizing your robust analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Report data to researchers through the LIMS system, demonstrating effective written communication skills.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A background in Chemistry or a related scientific discipline.
  • Experience with X-Ray Fluorescence Spectroscopy (XRF), Inductively Coupled Plasma (ICP), and/or Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a high-pressure, demanding environment.
