Position Overview
The Senior Operational Finance Analyst plays a crucial role in overseeing contract evaluations and understanding their financial impacts on various projects. This position is tasked with advising management on revenue recognition and spearheading financial audits related to projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough analyses of financial data and key performance metrics for assigned projects, delivering insightful reports to leadership.
- Assess financial implications for designated projects, ensuring compliance with revenue recognition standards and applying engineering and construction accounting principles to identify risks associated with complex initiatives.
- Collaborate closely with engineering and construction teams to assess project financials and enhance forecasting accuracy.
- Work in conjunction with Contract Accounting Managers to facilitate planning efforts and coordinate group activities.
- Design and implement both formal and informal financial risk training sessions for project managers and management teams across various divisions.
- Oversee month-end closing processes and ensure the preparation of precise financial reports.
- Lead audits initiated by clients, conduct project-specific financial reviews, and assist with the annual financial audit for the organization.
- Engage in special projects aimed at fostering innovation and enhancing operational processes.
- Establish and promote best practices for the Contract Analyst teams based in the US and India.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior staff members.
- Ensure adherence to quality assurance and quality control processes.
- Maintain compliance with corporate and site-specific safety regulations.
- Perform additional duties as required.
- Adhere to all company policies and standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience; public accounting experience is a plus.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and well-organized with strong client service capabilities.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical abilities with meticulous attention to detail.
- Able to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team-focused environment.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills to meet deadlines.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is preferred.
