This position performs a wide range of complex duties managing the Department of Planning and Community Development finance programs which provide direct services to the community, the Tribal Staff and the department.
The successful candidate will have experience in and be able to address each of the qualifications in their cover letter.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain budgets and all components
- Review and analyze Revenue/Expenses for anomalies and trends
- Prepare and process purchase orders and check requests in procurement module for purchases and payment to ensure payments are on-time
- Review financial reports for variances
- File and maintain up-to-date and well-organized files
- Liaison between Finance and PCD/Planning staff to assure timely payment of invoices
- Maintain vendor relationships
- Monthly meetings for budget/expenditure updates
- Experience with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and desktop publishing programs
- Ability to perform typing or computer input at an acceptable level of proficiency
- Excellent organizational skills
- Excellent communication skills
BA and one year of accounting experience OR AA and 3+ years of accounting experience OR High school diploma/GED and 5+ years of accounting experience.
Language SkillsAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.
Mathematical SkillsAbility to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra.
Reasoning AbilityAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Certificates, Licenses, RegistrationsThe successful candidate will be required to have a current Washington State Driver's License.
