Job Summary

The Veterans Affairs, Veterans Health Administration is seeking a highly skilled Social Worker to serve as the Military to VA Program Manager. This role is responsible for overseeing all transition activities and coordinating care and services for Post-911 Service Members and Veterans.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform administrative and personnel management functions relative to staff supervised.
  • Establish guidelines and performance expectations for staff, clearly communicated through the formal employee performance management system.
  • Review and approve or disapprove leave requests.
  • Provide advice and counsel to workers related to work and administrative matters.
  • Develop a system to identify Post-911 patients served by the facility and those in the catchment area not currently seen.
  • Guide and support the IPV Coordinator to achieve full implementation of the IPVAP at this facility.
  • Ensure that the M2VA, IPV, TBI, and Polytrauma programs are interdisciplinary and fully integrated with the inpatient and outpatient medical programs.
Work Schedule

Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm. Telework is not available for this position.

Requirements
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
  • Must be proficient in written and spoken English.
  • Subject to background/security investigation.
  • Selected applicants will be required to complete an online onboarding process.
Qualifications

Applicants pending the completion of educational or certification/licensure requirements may be referred and tentatively selected but may not be hired until all requirements are met.

Education

A Master's degree in social work (MSW) from a school of social work fully accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) is required.

Licensure

Must be licensed or certified at the advanced practice level, and must be able to provide supervision for licensure.

Grade Determinations

In addition to the basic requirements, applicants must have at least one year of experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level.

Experience must demonstrate possession of advanced practice skills in a specialty area or in administration demonstrating progressively more professional competency and judgment.

Candidate may have certification or other post-master's degree training from a nationally recognized professional organization or university that includes a defined curriculum/course of study and internship, or equivalent supervised professional experience.
