United Therapeutics was founded in 1996 by a family seeking a cure for their daughter's pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH). Today, we have six FDA-approved therapies that treat PAH, pulmonary hypertension associated with interstitial lung disease (PH-ILD) and neuroblastoma, a rare pediatric cancer. Our near-term pipeline seeks to develop additional therapies for PAH and pulmonary fibrosis (PF).

About the Role

As a Senior Automation Specialist at United Therapeutics, you will oversee and play a key role in designing, implementing, and maintaining advanced automation systems that drive innovation in pharmaceutical manufacturing and packaging. You will work with Schneider EcoStruxure BMS, AVEVA (WW) ArchestrA PCS, and Environmental Monitoring systems to ensure seamless system performance in a regulated, validated setting.

Your expertise in PLC programming, industrial networking, and system troubleshooting will be critical in optimizing processes, maintaining compliance, and enhancing efficiency. You will collaborate across engineering, IT, quality, and manufacturing teams, providing leadership and technical expertise while fostering a dynamic, solution-oriented environment.

In this role, you will lead automation efforts in a high-tech, highly regulated industry and contribute to our mission to provide a brighter future for patients.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's Degree in information technology or engineering
  • 8+ years of automation experience
  • 2+ years of supervisory experience
  • Prior experience working in an FDA-regulated pharmaceutical manufacturing environment
  • Prior experience working on construction projects
  • Experience with PLC programming and connectivity, Industrial Networking and Schneider EcoStruxure, Wonderware Archestra, and Elpro Environmental Monitoring
