Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the command maintains optimal material readiness.
  • Conduct inspections on the maintenance, operation, performance, and configuration of USMC tactical communications systems.
  • Evaluate and address quality assurance issues related to the maintenance, overhaul, or modification of tactical communications equipment.
  • Act as a technical advisor to management and staff on principles and techniques for quality assurance in tactical communication systems.
  • Develop and facilitate maintenance quality assurance training focused on complex procedures and techniques relevant to the work environment.
  • Ensure compliance with requirements set by higher authorities and regulatory agencies.
  • Assist Responsible Officers (RO) or Responsible Individuals (RI) in property accountability.
  • Compile and analyze organized equipment inspection results, including deficiency and failure reports.
  • Research policies and procedures to identify problem areas and ensure compliance.
  • Generate local technical documentation and supplementary materials to support key staff transitions.
  • Compose correspondence detailing complex technical requirements and proposed solutions.
  • Advise officials on intricate equipment logistics issues and requirements.
  • Represent the organization at meetings to address and resolve logistical challenges.
  • Communicate with equipment manufacturers and users regarding warranty issues and coordinate resolutions.
  • Develop and deliver essential training to support maintenance operations, including Quick Reference Guides (QRGs) and instructional sheets.
  • Conduct equipment readiness inspections to ensure compliance with applicable statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain the unit's publication program, including effective training and monthly reporting.

Expertise Required:

Thorough understanding of USMC technical publications, including TMs, SL-3, and all I-Type publications.

Conduct qualitative and quantitative analyses of maintenance operations, consolidating findings into actionable recommendations.

Review and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and specific desktop procedures.

Ensure adherence to service request standards by reviewing Monthly Production Reports (MPRs) and tracking ordered parts.

Oversee equipment modification applications within the unit, ensuring familiarity with technical publications and coordination with external organizations.

Maintain the unit's Navy and Marine Corps (NAVMC) document register, assigning document numbers and tracking submission statuses.

Review and maintain stock records and documents related to inventory, material control, accounting, and supply reports.

Conduct inventory of incoming and outgoing equipment to ensure system integrity and accountability.

Utilize various Automated Information Systems (AIS) and databases to consolidate information for analysis.

Prepare and review official naval correspondence, including letters, memos, and presentations.

Advise the logistics officer as a subject matter expert on maintenance planning and implementation to meet command objectives.

Communicate effectively with superiors and commodity managers through written reports and oral presentations.

Participate in bi-weekly meetings to facilitate cross-competency communication among personnel.

Prepare for and conduct internal and external inspections.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Active TS/SCI DoD Clearance.
  • Bachelor of Science Degree with 8 years of relevant experience (experience may substitute for degree).
  • Ability to develop training materials and conduct training sessions.
  • Experience in preparing DOD documentation and proficient in project planning and management.
  • Expertise in property management from acquisition to disposal using automated systems.
  • Proficient in MS-Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with Automated Information Systems (AIS) such as GCSS-MC, TLCM-OST, LOGWAY, PLMS, TFSMS, MCTIMS, and SharePoint.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to perform occasional manual labor and warehouse duties, including lifting up to 50 pounds and remaining stationary for extended periods.
