Clinical Support Specialist for Family Medicine Residency

Overview:
This role is pivotal in delivering direct patient support and collaborating with healthcare providers.
This position will report to the Director of Clinic Operations, ensuring seamless clinic functionality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engages in direct patient care under the supervision of healthcare professionals in an outpatient environment.
- Records patient vital signs and medical history, administers screening tools, conducts medication reconciliation, and accurately documents all information in the patient’s medical records.
- Assists healthcare providers with various procedures tailored to the clinic's specialty.
- Administers prescribed medications, including immunizations, as directed by the healthcare provider.
- Conducts specimen collection and testing pertinent to the clinic's specialty.
- Facilitates communication by answering phone inquiries, scheduling patient appointments, managing patient check-ins and check-outs, verifying demographic and insurance details, and acquiring external medical records.
- Performs additional tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education:
a.) High School diploma required.
b.) Completion of a Medical Assistant program is preferred but not mandatory.
Licensure/Certification:
a.) Medical Assistant certification is preferred.
b.) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandatory.
Work Experience:
a.) At least 1 year of experience as a medical assistant in a clinical setting is preferred. Graduation from a medical assistant program may be considered in lieu of the required experience.
