Job Summary:


The Aircraft Maintenance Test Pilot is responsible for conducting flight tests to evaluate aircraft performance and handling characteristics, ensuring airworthiness after maintenance or modifications.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct test flights and demonstrate aircraft capabilities following maintenance or modifications.
  • Assess the airworthiness of aircraft in accordance with established guidelines before flight release.
  • Perform troubleshooting on aircraft both on the ground and in-flight, providing detailed reports or verbal instructions for necessary corrections.
  • Verify documentation related to maintenance to ensure compliance with performed work prior to flight checks.
  • Prepare aircraft for alert status and execute launch and recovery operations for designated flights.
  • Deploy as needed to fulfill contract obligations when maintenance test flights are scheduled.
  • Interpret weather data for flight planning and file necessary flight plans using authorized procedures.
  • Maintain accurate documentation throughout the testing process.
  • Calculate and record weight and balance logs for aircraft.
  • Operate within broad guidelines, exercising discretion in selecting methods to achieve objectives.
  • Coordinate with project management, team leads, and quality control personnel.
  • Ensure flight safety, crew member qualifications, and validate aircraft airworthiness.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:


• 1,000 hours of pilot-in-command experience, with at least 300 hours in the same aircraft type (CH-47F).

• Experience in CH-47 phase or RESET management.

• Graduate of a US Military aviation maintenance test pilot course or equivalent civilian training.

• Proven experience in maintenance on CH-47 Aircraft.

• Proficient in using interactive technical manuals and aircraft maintenance documentation.

• Skilled in MS Office applications.

• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication abilities.

• Valid driver's license required.

• Must pass an overseas deployment physical upon hire.

• Class II Flight Physical required.

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Graduate of US Military Maintenance Test Pilot course, fulfilling all AR 95-2 requirements.


Desired Qualifications:


• Five years of experience as an Aviation Maintenance Test Pilot, including GMTF, DARRT, and BDAR experience in an operational unit.

• 300 MTP hours in CH-47F.

• Experience as a Battalion Level Maintenance Officer (BAMO).

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience (10 years as an MTP).

• Technical Inspector experience in rotary-wing aviation, either military or civilian.
