A Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) Registered Nurse (RN) is an advanced nursing professional dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care within a cardiovascular surgical environment.

This position necessitates specialized expertise and knowledge in cardiovascular surgical procedures and perioperative nursing care.

Key Responsibilities:

Preoperative Evaluation:
Conduct thorough assessments of patients prior to surgical intervention to ascertain their health requirements and formulate tailored care plans.

Equipment and Instrumentation Oversight:
Prepare and uphold the operating room's standards, ensuring all equipment is sterile and ready for use, including monitoring devices and surgical instruments.

Intraoperative Patient Management:

Deliver direct nursing care during surgical procedures, which includes vigilant monitoring of vital signs, administering necessary medications, and effectively managing any urgent situations that may occur.


Postoperative Support:
Provide comprehensive care to patients following surgery, including monitoring vital signs, managing pain levels, and identifying potential complications.

Collaboration with Healthcare Teams:
Engage with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure cohesive patient care throughout the surgical process.

Medical Record Maintenance:
Ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient care activities and maintain up-to-date medical records.

Continuous Education:

Participate in ongoing professional development and training to remain informed about the latest advancements and best practices in cardiovascular surgery and perioperative care.


The ideal candidate for this position should possess a valid RN license and have substantial experience in a cardiovascular operating room setting.

Essential qualities include strong clinical competencies, excellent communication skills, and the ability to perform effectively under pressure. Additionally, familiarity with cardiovascular surgical techniques and a solid understanding of cardiovascular anatomy and physiology are highly advantageous.


This is a contracted travel position, not full-time.
