Job Overview
We are in search of an experienced Manufacturing Process Engineer with a minimum of 7 years in the field to spearhead the development of CNC programming for advanced multi-axis CNC lathes and mills utilizing CAM software, specifically MasterCAM. This role is pivotal in enhancing and standardizing machining methodologies, tooling, and equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Spend approximately 75% of your time on the production floor, actively engaging in the editing and modification of machine programs, setups, and engineering process enhancements.
- Oversee a fleet of around 20 machines, ensuring all programs are current, optimized, and that necessary adjustments to processes are made.
- Assist during machine setups and initial production releases, without the requirement to operate the machines directly.
- Design and develop fixtures, and potentially create 3D models using CAD software.
Essential Skills
- CNC Programming: Proficient in MasterCAM.
- Machine Operation: Expertise in multi-axis CNC lathes and mills.
- Fixture Design: Proven experience in designing effective fixtures.
- CAD Proficiency: Experience with SolidWorks or NX.
- Lean Manufacturing: Knowledge of lean principles.
- Process Routing: Familiarity with process routing techniques.
- Secondary Processes: Understanding of secondary manufacturing processes.
- NDT: Knowledge of Nondestructive Testing methods.
Interpersonal Skills
- Strong problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with team members.
- Proactive approach to challenges.
- Technical support skills for troubleshooting.
Work Environment
This position is situated within a close-knit, family-oriented team, yet part of a larger corporate structure. Standard working hours are from 8 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday, with a typical workload of 40 hours per week and minimal overtime. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with shop floor personnel to promptly address and resolve issues while developing comprehensive manufacturing processes that comply with customer and design specifications.
