This firm manages a substantial portfolio of affordable rental housing units, with a total valuation exceeding $1.3 billion, distributed across multiple states.

The position supports a hybrid work model, allowing for a combination of remote and in-office work each week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage effectively with property management firms, regulatory bodies, investors, and other key parties to ensure the efficient management and longevity of the housing portfolio.
  • Supervise third-party property management for a variety of property types, including multifamily, single-family, and commercial real estate.
  • Administer and oversee all insurance policies, proactively identifying and addressing potential risks.
  • Evaluate and scrutinize financial components, such as budgets, monthly financial reports, reserves, escrows, and distributions for the designated property portfolio.
  • Conduct thorough property assessments to confirm that developments are maintained in optimal condition, with occasional travel required.
  • Oversee and facilitate lease-up processes at properties, ensuring that leasing objectives are achieved.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of affordable housing initiatives, ensuring adherence to regulations by third-party management firms.
  • Employ innovative problem-solving techniques to resolve operational challenges.
  • Support development and finance teams in the acquisition, sale, or recapitalization of housing assets.
  • Implement strategies aimed at enhancing the value and operational efficiency of assets within the portfolio.
  • Review and sanction significant operational decisions, including maintenance, capital enhancements, and vendor agreements.
  • Address inquiries and concerns from investors regarding property performance.

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree in real estate, finance, business administration, urban planning, or a related discipline. Equivalent experience in affordable housing (3-5 years) may also be taken into account.
  • Proven experience in property management, financial analysis, insurance oversight, property upkeep, and compliance with affordable housing regulations.
