We are seeking a highly motivated and organized student to join our team as a Process Engineering Intern. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for completing small process engineering projects, applying concepts learned in engineering and engineering-related classes to real-world applications, and contributing to the development of our company's processes.
Responsibilities:- Ensure personal safety and the safety of contractors working on projects, with a goal of completing projects with zero safety or environmental incidents.
- Attend daily leadership team meetings and monthly safety meetings to stay informed and contribute to discussions.
- Manage small capital projects from concept to closure, including design, estimating, proposal submittal, purchasing, installation, start-up, commissioning, documentation, training, and closure.
- Identify growth and cost savings projects to improve productivity and reduce costs associated with manufacturing.
- Build a collaborative environment with other specialists and employees, fostering teamwork and open communication.
- Develop and deliver effective presentations to share project results and insights.
- Progress towards a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering with a minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0.
- Ability to work 40 hours per week during the summer internship term.
- Capacity to learn and understand the corn wet milling process, including systems and principles involved in its operation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify improvement opportunities and implement action plans.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present technical information and prepare concise reports.
- Proven experience with PC applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Currently possess unrestricted authorization to work in the United States.
- Be a currently enrolled student in a Bachelor's Degree Program, with a minimum of two years of coursework completed.
