We are seeking a skilled Pediatric Nurse Practitioner to join our team at Pediatrics On Demand, an Urgent Care and Primary Care facility in Oak Lawn, IL. Our sister company, Minis Walk In Clinic, also serves patients from birth to 21 years of age.
Job SummaryThe successful candidate will provide high-quality patient care, working closely with our team to identify and address the needs of our young patients. This is a part-time opportunity with weekend availability.
Responsibilities- Identify changes in a child's signs and symptoms and intervene in emergent situations
- Differentiate between normal and abnormal physical findings
- Engage patients and their families in conversation to determine types and extent of illnesses
- Create and implement individualized plans of nursing care to meet each patient's specific requirements
- Document all patient care activities
- Order and follow up on medical tests such as blood work, x-rays, and other scans
- Diagnose and treat a wide array of acute, chronic, and critical illnesses by effectively interpreting test results
- Educate patients and their families
- Act as a point of contact for responding to questions and concerns regarding treatments and illnesses
- Participate in community and clinic education programs
- Maintain current credentialing, license, and board certification
- Administer medication using age-appropriate guidelines
- Evaluate a child for signs and symptoms of abuse
- Maintain privacy of patients
- Assist in supervision of health professional students
- Demonstrate integrity, care, and compassion when working with patients/families and staff
- Illinois Nurse Practitioner License
- Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (Preferred)
- 1+ years of pediatric experience as a nurse practitioner
- Urgent Care experience is a PLUS
- Experience with high patient volume is a PLUS
- Weekend availability
- UHC (Medical, Dental, Vision)
- Aflac (Critical Illness, Accident, Hospital, Short Term Disability, Life Insurance)
