Position Overview

SAIC is seeking a Cloud Team Manager to lead a dedicated group of Azure administrators responsible for the operation, maintenance, and security of an Azure IAAS environment. This role is crucial in supporting the operational needs of the organization while adhering to established policies and procedures.

The Cloud Team Manager will play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless functioning of Azure services, guiding the team in daily tasks, and providing strategic direction for cloud technology integration. This position requires a hands-on leader with a strong commitment to delivering high-quality IT services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary liaison for all Azure-related inquiries, offering guidance, support, and leading the implementation of Azure IAAS solutions.
  • Manage and mentor the cloud team, establishing clear goals and monitoring performance to ensure optimal productivity and service excellence.
  • Oversee daily Azure administration tasks, including configuration, updates, and maintenance across all infrastructure instances.
  • Lead incident response efforts related to cloud services, ensuring timely resolution and conducting thorough root cause analyses.
  • Monitor Azure infrastructure to identify issues, troubleshoot problems, and ensure maximum uptime and performance.
  • Implement robust security measures, including patch management and compliance reviews, to safeguard the environment.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of configurations, changes, and incidents to support operational continuity and compliance.
  • Provide technical support for cloud-related challenges and collaborate with other IT teams to ensure cohesive network services.
  • Contribute technical insights to cross-functional initiatives related to enterprise networks and cloud interoperability.
  • Engage in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing performance, automation, and tool utilization.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation to address outages and urgent enterprise needs, which may involve after-hours engagements.

Qualifications:

Required Experience and Education:

  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 9 years of relevant experience, or 4 years of experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Proven experience in cloud (Azure) administration or a similar capacity within a large-scale operational environment.
  • Experience leading a technical team focused on managing, securing, and updating Azure environments.
  • Strong proficiency with directory services and authentication technologies (e.g., Active Directory/LDAP) in both Windows and Linux Azure IAAS settings.
  • Hands-on experience with Ansible for administration in both on-premises and Azure environments.
  • Solid understanding of networking concepts, including VPNs, VPCs, DNS, DHCP, load balancing, and firewalls.
  • Familiarity with network management and security protocols.
  • Experience with DNS security measures and threat mitigation.
  • Basic knowledge of operating systems and scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python, Bash).

Security Clearance:

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance prior to starting the position.

Certifications:

  • Security+ (or equivalent IATII certification).
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104) or equivalent certification.

Compensation for this role is competitive and based on experience and qualifications.
