The Inpatient Care Coordination Specialist plays a vital role in providing administrative and organizational support within the patient care environment. The Coordinator oversees the operational desk of the inpatient unit, leveraging technology effectively and managing downtime protocols as necessary. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
A minimum of 6 months of experience in a similar role is preferred.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:Proficiency in medical terminology is essential, or the candidate must successfully complete a relevant course within the first 6 months of employment. A High School diploma or equivalent is preferred, along with completion of a formal training program for Health Unit Coordinators.
REQUIRED SKILLS:The ideal candidate must demonstrate adaptability in a dynamic work environment. Exceptional telephone etiquette and customer service abilities are essential. Analytical skills are necessary for gathering and interpreting routine data, maintaining semi-complex records, and organizing tasks efficiently. Strong interpersonal skills are required to communicate effectively with patients, visitors, and hospital staff in a respectful and supportive manner. Attention to detail and the ability to concentrate are crucial. Familiarity with Windows office systems and office equipment is preferred.
CERTIFICATION:
Certification as a Health Unit Coordinator is preferred.
