Role Purpose:
The Referral Coordinator plays a crucial role in managing the referral process for specialty care appointments and testing, ensuring timely and accurate processing of referrals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Efficiently process all necessary referrals and prior authorizations.
- Provide essential clinical information to specialists.
- Verify and maintain accurate patient demographics and insurance details.
- Document referrals meticulously to enhance team communication and efficiency.
- Conduct weekly tracking of specialist appointments.
- Request and manage consult notes.
- Reschedule appointments as needed.
- Communicate professionally with all stakeholders involved in the referral process.
- Collaborate with nursing staff, providers, and support teams to ensure high-quality referrals.
