Job Overview:

A member of the surgical team, acting under the direction of a Registered Nurse, who works with the surgeon and RN in delivering patient care and assuming appropriate responsibility before, during and after surgery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in preparing patients for surgery, including positioning and draping.
  • Monitor and maintain aseptic conditions during surgical procedures.
  • Pass instruments and supplies to the surgeon as needed.
  • Assist with closing wounds and applying dressings.
  • Participate in post-operative care, including monitoring vital signs and reporting any changes to the RN.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of an OR Technician training program.
  • 2-3 years of experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Strong knowledge and skills in scrubbing for various surgical procedures, including robotics, vascular, endovascular, neurovascular, general, thoracic, neuro/spine, orthopedics, complex plastic cases, and trauma.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to multitask and work independently.

Certifications and Licenses:

  • Certified Surgical Technician (CST) certification.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider Certification from the American Heart Association.

Pay Range:

$30.65 minimum to $37.58 maximum hourly rate.
