About the Role

Piper Aircraft is seeking a skilled Welder to join our manufacturing team. As a Welder, you will be responsible for performing high-quality welding operations on complex aluminum, stainless steel, and steel parts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform TIG welding of complex and intricate parts, including engine mounts and aircraft assemblies
  • Inspect and buy-off own work using Piper inspection certifications
  • Assist in addressing departmental quality concerns to resolve them expeditiously and in a cost-effective manner
  • Help troubleshoot and re-work discrepancies as necessary
  • Provide technical assistance to teammates and other manufacturing support teams
  • Conduct training and cross-training of teammates to attain acceptable levels of performance
  • Assist with continuous improvement efforts to enhance team performance
  • Work with other manufacturing areas to ensure production readiness for design changes
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Successful completion of a welding program or 2 years of experience
  • Related welding experience requirements: 2-5 years of experience for Welder II, 5 years of experience for Senior Welder, 2 years of experience for Structural Welder I, 2-5 years of experience for Structural Welder II, and 5 years of experience for Senior Structural Welder
  • Ability to pass required weld certification per AWS D17.1
  • Ability to work scheduled shift and hours, including overtime
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Use of hand and power tools as required
  • Follow all safety procedures
  • Ability to demonstrate sound judgment and effective communication skills (written and verbal)
