Role Overview

We are looking for a dynamic and driven System Architect to spearhead the design and development of system architectures. In this pivotal role, you will evaluate and analyze critical architectural decisions, balancing power efficiency and performance within thermally constrained environments. Your expertise will guide the analysis of silicon, data flows, and requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Break down user-facing features and experiences into corresponding enabling technologies and components.
  2. Present available architectural alternatives, assess engineering trade-offs, and provide recommendations to achieve product objectives.
  3. Collaborate across functions to comprehend the existing portfolio of modules and technologies, derive capabilities, and formulate a comprehensive end-to-end product solution.
  4. Facilitate cross-functional alignment through technical discussions, negotiations, and executive presentations.
  5. Define and document system-level feature specifications and detailed functional requirements.
  6. Guide product features through the entire product lifecycle, from concept to launch.
  7. Critically assess and influence architectural trade-offs with data-driven insights and innovative concepts.
Minimum Qualifications
  • BS/MS/PhD in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in consumer electronics or related fields.
  • In-depth experience with systems that involve complex interactions of sensors, actuators/displays, hardware, and software, with stringent performance and latency requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying detailed information while effectively engaging with executives and cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated expertise in SoC architecture, low-power design, hardware/software interfaces, bus protocols, and wireless communication.
  • Familiarity with hardware/software interactions, operating systems, workload estimation, and thermal and power management in modern SoCs.
  • Experience with PCB technologies, signal integrity considerations, and co-existence/desense mitigation.
  • Background in complex systems involving motion sensing, computer vision, and sensor fusion.
  • Knowledge of various display technologies (LCD, OLED, LBS) and their associated optical systems.
Additional Information

At Apple, the base salary is just one component of our comprehensive compensation package, which is determined within a range. This allows for growth and advancement as you develop in your role. The salary range for this position is between $197,400 and $296,300, depending on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Employees also have the opportunity to participate in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs, receive restricted stock unit awards, and purchase Apple stock at a discount through the Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
