Job Summary
Mercy University is seeking a qualified adjunct faculty member to join our Department of Special Education and Educational Leadership. As an adjunct professor, you will play a vital role in preparing teacher candidates for working with students with diverse learning needs in various settings.
Responsibilities
- Teach courses in special education and educational leadership
- Develop and implement curriculum that aligns with university standards
- Assess student learning and provide feedback
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a cohesive learning experience
- Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to program development
Qualifications
- Doctoral or Master's degree in Special Education or Educational Leadership
- Teaching certificate from a relevant field
- Experience teaching in K-12 schools and higher education settings
- Experience with online teaching and learning
- Ability to work with students from diverse backgrounds and needs
- Collegiality and effectiveness in communication
Physical Requirements
- Ability to push, pull, move, or lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to meet all general health requirements for the position as per university policies
