Position Overview
As a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) II, you will deliver quality care to patients and their families in a professional and empathetic manner, adhering to the scope of practice as defined by University HealthCare Alliance (UHA) policies. You will play a vital role in assisting the patient care team in executing the medical care plan.
Key Responsibilities
- Patient Preparation: Efficiently manage time to ensure providers remain on schedule and minimize patient wait times.
- Clinical Procedures: Perform and assist with routine and specialized clinical tasks within the LVN scope, ensuring timely and accurate execution.
- Medication Administration: Administer prescribed medications and vaccines safely and accurately, following established protocols.
- Communication: Maintain clear and professional communication with patients and healthcare providers, ensuring accurate information exchange.
- Documentation: Document patient interactions and care details accurately and promptly, adhering to UHA policies.
- Administrative Support: Handle administrative tasks efficiently, including managing voicemails and processing prior authorizations.
- Infection Control: Uphold safety and infection control standards, ensuring a clean and compliant working environment.
- Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED.
- Experience in an ambulatory care setting is preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, demonstrating professionalism and empathy.
- Basic math and computer skills for data entry and patient information management.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and electronic medical record systems.
- Current LVN licensure.
- Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association.
