As a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner with Provider Healthcare, you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse range of patients, providing high-quality care in a community health center. This role requires a motivated and collaborative individual who works well in an interdisciplinary team environment. Key responsibilities include taking medical/psychiatric histories, ordering diagnostics, implementing therapy according to scope of practice guidelines, and communicating effectively with patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Taking appropriate medical/psychiatric history and medical physical examination of patients
- Ordering pertinent diagnostics and implementing appropriate therapy according to scope of practice guidelines
- Obtaining supervising physician's consultation when problems presented are outside scope of practice or when unfamiliar with a particular aspect of the patient's care
- Communicating effectively with patients while involved with their healthcare, including providing appropriate patient education
Requirements:
- Completed a nationally accredited Nurse Practitioner Program
- Completion of Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Training Program
- Current nursing license and be in good standing with the California Licensing Board
- Current NP certification through the American Nurses Association
- Current CPR Certification
