Key Responsibilities- Provide routine daily nursing care to residents, adhering to federal, state, and local standards.
- Treat each resident with kindness, dignity, and respect, maintaining a positive and calm demeanor.
- Communicate effectively with residents, family members, visitors, and staff, using clear and empathetic language.
- Work cooperatively with all departments and multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care delivery.
- Perform essential duties and responsibilities, including vital sign checks, wound dressing, and catheter insertion.
- Accurately and thoroughly document resident progress notes and report any changes in condition to the nurse supervisor.
- Assist and supervise Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) as needed.
- Ensure equipment is in good working order and monitor residents at risk for falls.
- Collect lab samples and adhere to infection control policies.
- Report any occupational exposures to blood, body fluids, or hazardous materials to a supervisor immediately.
- Attend annual facility in-service training programs and complete other assignments as requested by management.
- Completion of LVN training from an accredited school or college.
- Valid LVN license in good standing.
- Valid CPR and BLS certification.
- IV certification is a plus.
- Minimum of 1 year of skilled nursing experience preferred.
- Ability to speak, read, write, and comprehend the English language.
- Ability to use a computer or tablet to enter resident data.
As an LVN at Briarcrest Nursing Center, you may encounter frequent interruptions, work with residents, family, and government agencies, and be requested to work beyond scheduled hours at times. You may be exposed to odors, dust, disinfectants, tobacco smoke, or air contaminants, and may be subjected to infectious waste, diseases, conditions, etc. You must be able to move intermittently throughout the day, work throughout the nursing areas, and lift up to 25 pounds. Lifting more weight up to 100 pounds requires assistance.
