Job SummaryWe are seeking a Mental Health Associate - Inpatient to join our team. As a key member of our interdisciplinary care team, you will provide support and guidance to patients, families, and caregivers. Your expertise will help us deliver evidence-based interventions and promote positive outcomes for our patients.
Responsibilities- Assist licensed nursing staff in providing patient care, including activities of daily living and therapeutic interventions.
- Perform group therapy, one-on-one counseling, and crisis intervention as needed.
- Support unit functions and maintain a safe, therapeutic environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
- Communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary care team and provide pertinent patient information.
- Perform clerical duties as assigned and provide basic nursing care for patients.
- Utilize education to provide designated group modalities and individual observations to assist patients in learning new coping skills.
- Provide emotional support to patients during difficult times and help them find solutions to their problems.
- Monitor patient progress and provide pertinent team meeting information.
- Bachelor's Degree required.
- Current BCLS (AHA) certification within 30 days of hire and maintained current.
- Behavioral Violence Prevention certification within 6 months of hire and maintained current annually.
- One year of prior mental health experience preferred.
- Familiarity with medical and psychological terminology preferred.
