Job Title: Scaler Operator

We are seeking a skilled Scaler Operator to join our team at Heidelberg Materials. As a Scaler Operator, you will be responsible for operating a mechanical scaler to remove loose limestone from pillars and the ceiling in our underground mine.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate a mechanical scaler in a tight, underground environment
  • Conduct and document pre-operational safety inspections on assigned equipment
  • Visually evaluate roof and rib conditions
  • Communicate repair and safety issues to supervisor and/or mechanic
  • Available to work weekends and overtime as business demands dictate
  • Punctual and have reliable transportation to and from work
Requirements:
  • Strong safety attitude
  • Ability to operate heavy equipment such as Gradall 5110 / 7320 and Fletcher 4250 mine scalers
  • Prefer high school diploma or general education (GED)
  • Prefer two years of heavy equipment experience
  • Underground mining operations and aggregate products experience is a plus
  • MSHA Part 48 training a plus but not required
