Job Summary:As a key member of the Vanderbilt University Medical Center team, the Financial Manager will play a crucial role in developing, analyzing, and conducting complex financial analyses to assess the viability of strategic and financial plans. This individual will independently evaluate programs or reimbursement through the use of financial reports and/or models, designing strategies to generate compliant and accurate payment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor the performance of operations and financial reporting, evaluating programs or reimbursement through the use of financial reports and/or models.
- Support operating and capital budget development efforts, managing the annual operating and capital budget processes.
- Provide advice and direction in the development of business plans, regulatory changes, and compliance matters.
- Lead the development of processes for enhancing quality, reimbursement, customer satisfaction, and financial performance goals.
- Participate in process improvement reviews of various financial systems.
- Analyze and report on the effects of proposed federal and state statutes and regulatory actions that may impact financial planning.
- Analyze future trends and indicators in related areas of interest, reviewing data to analyze trends affecting budget needs or compliance risks.
Technical Capabilities:
- Peer Leadership: Demonstrate leadership and influence people of equal rank to accomplish team goals.
- Project Management: Plan, organize, and manage resources to bring about the successful completion of specific project goals and objectives.
- Financial Analysis: Evaluate businesses, projects, budgets, etc. to determine their performance, stability, and profitability.
- Problem Solving: Use critical thinking and process improvement to address issues.
- Written Communication: Demonstrate the ability to write clear, detailed, and comprehensive status reports, memos, and documentation.
- Communication of Results: Communicate results and recommendations to customers in a concise and non-technical format.

- Utilize multiple sources of data to analyze and resolve complex problems.
