Adjunct Faculty Pool - Diagnostic Medical Sonography

About the Role:

Piedmont Virginia Community College is seeking qualified adjunct faculty members to teach Diagnostic Medical Sonography courses in our classroom and campus laboratories.

Responsibilities:
  • Teach Diagnostic Medical Sonography content to students, designing course syllabi and developing course materials as needed.
  • Utilize sonography equipment and hands-on lab practice to provide students with a comprehensive learning experience.
  • Teaching load will be based on student enrollment and staffing needs.
Requirements:
  • Active RDMS credentials from the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography in specialty areas of abdomen and Ob/Gyn.
  • Bachelor's or Associate's degree in the teaching field with demonstrated competencies.
  • Minimum of 2 years full-time related occupational experience as a sonographer.
  • Knowledge of computers and online instructional technologies (Canvas).
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to teach lecture, online, and/or hands-on laboratory courses.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Multiple professional registry credentials, including RVT and RDCS.
  • Prior teaching experience.
