Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Head Millwright to lead our maintenance team. This position involves overseeing all aspects of mechanical maintenance, ensuring that all sawmill machinery and equipment operate at peak efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership: Supervise and lead a team of millwrights and maintenance personnel to achieve optimal plant performance.
- Maintenance Planning: Plan and oversee the installation, maintenance, and repair of all sawmill machinery and equipment to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
- Maintenance Strategies: Develop and implement maintenance strategies to increase plant reliability and performance, ensuring compliance with all safety and regulatory requirements.
- Financial Management: Manage budgets and forecast maintenance needs to ensure efficient use of resources.
- Technical Expertise: Conduct and oversee regular inspections, troubleshoot complex equipment breakdowns, and provide guidance during critical repairs.
- Team Development: Foster a collaborative and motivated team environment focused on improvement and efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Millwright with leadership responsibilities, preferably in the forestry or wood products sector.
- Deep understanding of industrial machinery and mechanical systems.
- Exceptional leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to manage budgets and understand financial impacts of maintenance activities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent mechanical and technical proficiency.
- A valid Millwright certification or equivalent professional qualification.
- Relevant training in management or a supervisory role is highly desirable.
