About the Position
This Lead Radiation Therapy Specialist role requires strong leadership skills, with a focus on quality patient care and teamwork. The ideal candidate will be able to coordinate staff, assign treatment cases, and monitor patient progress, ensuring compliance and addressing challenges effectively.
Main Responsibilities
- Treatment case assignment and oversight, ensuring alignment with new directives and treatment modalities.
- Patient treatment plan review and progress monitoring with therapists, addressing compliance and challenges effectively.
- Case Review Sessions with attending physicians, promoting quality assurance and best practices.
- Mentoring and orienting new therapists and residents, reinforcing essential work techniques and procedures.
- Quality Assurance testing development and execution with the Radiation Physicist, contributing to departmental committees.
- Recruitment, performance reviews, and staff management, addressing workforce issues with supervisor approval.
- Patient simulation and treatment planning activities coordination, providing support and referrals as needed.
- Administrative tasks including report preparation, payroll records, and scheduling for efficient operations.
- Equipment maintenance and inventory management, participating in major equipment selection processes.
- Serving as the communication link between the Radiological Physics section and medical staff, facilitating interactions with satellite departments.
- Departmental project engagement, aligning with goals and objectives.
- Customer satisfaction and relationship building within the department and beyond.
- Necessary therapist duties to maintain staffing levels.
- Staff schedule, rotation, and leave request coordination.
