Job Summary

As a Helicopter Pilot with Air Methods, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe transportation of medical crew and patients to receiving hospitals within an assigned operational area. You will be the final authority with regard to the operation of the aircraft and the safety of passengers, cargo, and equipment.

Responsibilities:
  • Operate Air Methods aircraft in a safe and legal manner.
  • Complete pre-flight checks before every flight to ensure the aircraft is airworthy.
  • Responsible for the completion of required documentation.
  • Able to conduct detailed flight planning with little notice to exacting standards.
  • Participate in Air Methods meetings, activities, projects, committees, and community outreach.
Requirements:
  • Associates degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school and two to five years related experience and/or training.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Instrument rating for category and class of aircraft.
  • Fixed wing multi-engine rating for twin-engine aircraft.
  • Commercial single-engine land rating for single-engine aircraft.
  • First or Second Class FAA Medical certificate.
