Class A CDL Driver

Job Summary:

H&E Equipment Services is seeking a highly skilled Class A CDL Driver to join our team. As a Class A CDL Driver, you will be responsible for safely transporting heavy equipment to customer job sites, ensuring timely delivery and excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and execute delivery routes, considering load weight, dimensions, road conditions, and construction factors.
  • Secure equipment loads effectively to prevent shifting during transit.
  • Verify and maintain accurate bill of lading (BOL) and shipping documentation for each delivery.
  • Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of tractor, trailer, and securements.
  • Properly distribute weight based on trailer size and axle count to ensure safe and compliant transport.
  • Adhere to safety protocols, including ensuring load heights meet interstate bridge clearances and flagging and placarding vehicles appropriately.
  • Report equipment or vehicle issues immediately to branch management.
  • Utilize Electronic Logging Device (ELD) for accurate tracking and ensure all necessary paperwork is completed and maintained daily.
  • Provide basic equipment usage training to customers as required.
Requirements:
  • Valid Class A CDL from resident state and DOT medical certificate required.
  • Minimum age of 21 with at least one year of combination tractor-trailer flatbed experience.
  • Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) and Commercial Driver's License Information System (CDLIS) showing no disqualifying traffic convictions as defined by FMCSA.
  • Ability to travel daily to customer job sites and handle physical demands of the job.
