About the Role

As an Engineering Supervisor at Magna Services, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of manufacturing/industrial engineers. You will assist the Engineering Manager, Assistant Plant Manager, and Plant Manager in maintaining a plantwide commitment to producing the highest quality product possible. Your primary focus will be on ensuring a safe environment for all associates, identifying and correcting hazards, and enforcing safety rules, policies, and procedures consistently.

Your Responsibilities
  • Direct responsibility for overseeing the daily operations of manufacturing/industrial engineers.
  • Assist the Engineering Manager, Assistant Plant Manager, and Plant Manager in maintaining a plantwide commitment to producing the highest quality product possible.
  • Ensure a safe environment for all associates, identifying and correcting hazards, and enforcing safety rules, policies, and procedures consistently.
  • Participate in APQP & PDP events and complete tasks as required.
  • Lead a technical team and establish and implement the most cost-efficient methods for production.
  • Analyze production and quality issues or proposed deviations from established standards and advise related departments concerning such deviations.
  • Develop and update process documentation and procedure instruction.
  • Define tooling and fixturing used in the manufacturing process.
  • Coordinate with tool designers to specify or procure new tooling.
  • Develop detailed, complete, and accurate capital equipment studies and make appropriate recommendations for capital expenditures.
  • Assist in preparation of departmental budget including material, manpower, equipment, and outside procurement costs, and operate within approved parameters.
Requirements

B.S. in Engineering related field, preferably Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, or Manufacturing with three plus years of engineering/manufacturing experience or an equivalent combination of education and work experience is required.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Examines plans and specifications for new machinery and equipment to ascertain if all safety precautions have been included.
  • Conducts plant and area surveys to determine safe limits of exposure to materials or conditions such as temperatures, noise, dusts, fumes, vapors, gases, solvents, and radiation.
  • Administers and insures compliance with the Quality, Environmental, and Material Management System requirements as outlined in the policy manuals.
  • ISO 14001 Auditor and/or Working Group Member as requested.
  • Displays a positive attitude towards safety, works safely, follows all company policies, and reports all unsafe and unhealthy conditions.
  • Reports all accidents and injuries in a timely manner.
  • Complies with all Health, Safety, and Environmental standards in accordance with the Magna Employee Charter and the Occupational Health & Safety Act.
