Key Responsibilities- Attend and participate in scheduled in-service training, educational classes, and meetings to maintain current certification and adhere to regulatory agencies and company policies/procedures.
- Follow nurse procedures and policies to ensure that services rendered meet OhioGuidestone quality standards, and mentor staff through the critical thinking process.
- Update and maintain medical records, perform diagnostic tests as directed, and establish and maintain an open line of communication with all Therapists and Medical Providers.
- Document client records, labs, medical records, and OARRS within Agency designated standards, meet and sustain the OhioGuidestone designated productivity standard, and provide ongoing education for Behavioral Health and SUD diagnoses and medicines for employees, as needed.
- Carry out orders as received from Medical Providers, monitor client vitals, and report to Medical Providers, complete prior authorizations for medication, and return phone calls to clients/families prior to end of shift.
- Coordinate the medical portion of client care while receiving services at OhioGuidestone, complete nursing assessments for clients, assist with referrals for clients to see health care professionals, and rotate shift or site as need based on staffing needs.
- Provide ongoing education on mental health diagnosis and medications, return calls for other psychiatry locations as needed, attend all required staff meetings, Agency trainings, and supervision meetings, and meet and sustain the Agency's designated productivity standards.
- Attend cottage team meetings when possible, complete daily rounds, update and maintain medication cupboards and notebooks, order, prepare, and administer medication to clients, stock first-aid supplies as needed, and make appointments for clients to see health care professionals.
- Prepare client medical reports on a quarterly basis, meet with provider(s), therapist(s), cottage manager(s), and client(s) as needed, maintain regular and reliable attendance, and may be involved in the planning, organization, and implementation of special events or department-specific projects or seasonal program changes.
- Associate's Degree required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- Valid State of Ohio Nursing License required.
- Demonstrated experience in the Behavioral Health lifespan, preferred.
- Must have a valid Ohio driver's license, safe driving record, and proof of insurance required.
- Ability to take and pass a physical exam, tuberculosis test, and drug screening.
