Network Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Network Engineer to join our Engineering Business Support team at a Fortune 100 telecom client in Frisco, TX. As a Network Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and supporting our growing network infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and deploy functional networks (LAN, WLAN, WAN, etc.)
  • Configure and install various network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN, QoS)
  • Perform network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hotfixes, and security configurations
  • Monitor performance and ensure system availability and reliability
  • Monitor system resource utilization, trending, and capacity planning
  • Work within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval, and success of changes made to the network infrastructure
  • Select and implement security tools, policies, and procedures in conjunction with the company's security team
  • Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution
  • Document network topology, infrastructure, and operational procedures
  • Participate in on-call rotation and provide 24x7 support when necessary
Requirements:
  • 4-7 years of professional experience in a similar network engineer role.
  • Packet core experience
  • Strong experience working on 5G Core and LTE related projects
  • Deep understanding of networking protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, SNMP)
  • Hands-on experience with monitoring, network diagnostic, and network analytics tools.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with tools such as NetScout, Wireshark, RAN tools, CDR tools, and provisioning tools.
  • Ability to use ticketing tools such as Service Now, OneConsole, and Axiom.
  • Proven experience with OEMs such as Nokia, Ericsson, Mavenier, Cisco, JMA, Corning, Commscope, ADRF, Solid.
  • Industry certifications (e.g., CCNP, JNCIP, etc.) are a plus
