Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Culinary Specialist to join our team at SLA Management. As a key member of our food service team, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking menu items in a commercial kitchen setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize commercial kitchen equipment to prepare and cook menu items in accordance with established recipes and quality standards.
  • Uphold ServSafe standards and child nutrition regulations to ensure a safe and healthy food environment.
  • Prepare food by washing, cutting, chopping, slicing, mixing, and assembling ingredients in accordance with established recipes.
  • Assist in serving food on the service line and maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment.
  • Collaborate with the Cafeteria Unit Leader to delegate daily duties and ensure seamless kitchen operations.

Requirements:

  • Culinary or cooking background with a minimum of mid-level experience.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Positive and upbeat attitude with excellent communication skills.
  • Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to pass a nationwide criminal background check.
  • ServSafe certification and allergy awareness training.

Working Conditions:

This is a full-time position located in a school setting, with a 180-day school year calendar. Employees do not work nights, weekends, or holidays. Our meal programs are designed to provide students with a positive and uplifting meal experience.
