Position Title: Elders Title VI Coordinator

Compensation: $23.04 per hour

Employment Type: Full Time, Non-Exempt

Location: Siletz, OR

Position Summary:

The Elders Title VI Coordinator serves as a vital resource for the Siletz Tribal Elders, ensuring access to essential services and support. This role involves coordinating various activities and programs aimed at enhancing the well-being of Tribal elders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Organize trips and events for Tribal elders, including council meetings, cultural gatherings, and conferences.
  • Provide information regarding Title VI and Elders WEX Programs to eligible participants.
  • Conduct assessments to evaluate elder eligibility for caregiver programs.
  • Assist elders with the WEX application process and manage payroll documentation.
  • Maintain accurate statistical records for Title VI and related programs.
  • Prepare grant applications for elder-focused services and activities.
  • Support Elder's Council meetings with necessary staff assistance.
  • Communicate elder concerns to relevant departments and administration.
  • Plan and facilitate caregiver training and conferences.
  • Assist in budget development and monitoring for Title VI programs.
  • Conduct home visits to assess elder needs and provide referrals to social services.
  • Adapt assessment methods as necessary to accommodate elder needs.
  • Provide physical assistance to elders during events and outings.
  • Advocate for elders and assist with applications for state and federal programs.
  • Manage case follow-ups for services provided to elders.
  • Develop and maintain departmental policies with oversight from management.
  • Establish service contracts with external providers to support elder needs.
  • Deliver meals to elders unable to attend local meal sites.
  • Compile and submit regular reports on program performance and financials.
  • Process documentation for caregiver timesheets and financial requests.
  • Participate in elder abuse training and adhere to reporting protocols.
  • Plan and execute an annual health fair for elders.
  • Create a resource directory for elder services available at various levels.
  • Develop and distribute a monthly newsletter.
  • Manage timesheets and financial requests for Elder WEX clients.
  • Assist with meal preparation for community events.
  • Oversee the maintenance of transportation resources for elders.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

Education: High school diploma or GED (waived for elders)

Experience: Two years in a service-oriented role, with at least one year working with Native Americans, elders, or individuals with disabilities.

Knowledge and Skills:
  • Familiarity with services available to Tribal elders.
  • Proficiency in computer applications for processing documentation.
Abilities:
  • Demonstrate a supportive attitude towards Tribal members and staff.
  • Understand program services and eligibility criteria.
  • Work independently and collaboratively as needed.
  • Effectively communicate with elders and service representatives.
  • Develop budgets and prepare grant proposals.
  • Lift up to 30 pounds and travel as required.
Additional Requirements:
  • First Aid and CPR certification (or ability to obtain within 60 days).
  • Valid driver's license and insurance.
