Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Grain Handler Technician to join our team at Western Grain Marketing. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient handling of grain products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the unloading, loading, and transferring of grain products, including truck and rail operations.
  • Operate conveyance equipment and associated safety systems to maximize operating efficiency and profitability.
  • Maintain positive customer relationships and project a favorable image of the company.
  • Understand grain quality and conditioning, and utilize best management practices for inventory control.
  • Responsible for the safe and efficient use of materials and machines, and maintain equipment, facilities, and other company assets safely and professionally.
  • Perform proper grain grading and blending practices, and assist in maintaining records and reports necessary to comply with government requirements.
  • Support other locations and departments as needed, and assist the Location Manager in operational expense control.
Requirements
  • Normally requires a high school diploma or equivalent, and at least two years of related work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proven professional communication, persuasion, and customer service skills.
  • Proven team-building skills and the ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
  • Demonstrated planning, organization, time management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to use the computer and attention to detail skills.
Work Environment

Exposed to noise from grain probes, truck traffic, and elevator operation. Exposed to extreme weather conditions (hot, cold, wet, etc.). Exposed to grain dust. May be required to work at varying heights, including climbs on grain bins, legs, etc.
