  • Collaboration: Partners with contractors on planning and designing system enhancements to mitigate service disruptions.

  • Support: Assumes the responsibilities of the NJ TRANSIT Superintendent as necessary.

Supervisory Responsibilities: N/A

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Transportation, Industrial Management, or Business Administration is preferred.
  • Three years of relevant experience in commuter rail operations, vehicle maintenance, or infrastructure upkeep can substitute for each year of education.

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a preference for candidates with contract negotiation experience.
  • Familiarity with FTA regulations and NJDOT State Safety Oversight Standards is advantageous.

Work Environment:

  • Combination of office and field settings.

Physical Requirements:

  • Involves sitting, standing, walking, climbing, and working outdoors in various weather conditions.
