Senior Consolidations Accountant (Contract)
We are looking for a meticulous and seasoned Senior Consolidations Accountant to enhance our finance department for a project of six months or more. This position plays a vital role in maintaining the precision and reliability of financial consolidations and reporting. The successful candidate will have a robust accounting background, especially in financial consolidation, along with outstanding analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Core Responsibilities:
Financial Consolidation (120 multi-national entities):
- Oversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial consolidation activities.
- Ensure accurate recording and reconciliation of all intercompany transactions and eliminations.
- Prepare consolidated financial statements while ensuring adherence to GAAP and IFRS standards.
Reporting:
- Generate precise and timely consolidated financial reports for both internal and external stakeholders.
- Assist in drafting financial statements, footnotes, and other disclosures required for regulatory submissions.
- Collaborate with external auditors during the audit process, supplying necessary documentation and explanations.
Analysis:
- Examine consolidated financial results, pinpointing trends, variances, and opportunities for enhancement.
- Deliver detailed financial analysis and insights to aid strategic decision-making.
- Develop and maintain financial models to facilitate consolidation processes and reporting.
Compliance and Controls:
- Ensure adherence to internal controls, policies, and procedures.
- Continuously refine consolidation processes and implement best practices.
- Monitor compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
Collaboration and Leadership:
- Work closely with finance teams across various business units to collect and validate financial data.
- Guide and mentor junior accounting personnel on consolidation processes and best practices.
- Engage in cross-functional projects and initiatives, providing financial expertise and insights.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline; CPA or equivalent certification is preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years focused on financial consolidation.
- In-depth knowledge of GAAP and IFRS.
- Proficiency in financial reporting and consolidation software (e.g., Hyperion, SAP, Oracle).
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with data analysis tools.
