Job Title: Host/Hostess

Swan Lake Resort is seeking a skilled Host/Hostess to provide exceptional guest experiences in our restaurant. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring seamless service delivery, managing guest expectations, and maintaining a welcoming atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor dining sections for empty and cleaned tables, estimating wait times for guests and managing the guest waiting list.
  • Ensure that the needs of guests are met while they are waiting, providing a warm and inviting experience.
  • Supervise and coordinate activities of dining room personnel to provide fast and courteous service to patrons.
  • Schedule dining reservations and arrange parties or special services for diners.
  • Track open/available tables, greet guests, escort them to tables, and provide menus.
  • Direct and instruct dining room personnel on customer needs to ensure customers receive fast and quality service.
  • Assist in regulating restaurant operations by maintaining constant contact with servers and kitchen staff.
  • Assist in bussing, setting up, and maintaining tables, ensuring all menus are clean and presentable.
  • Confirm with the manager about parties and events, provide comment cards, and solicit feedback from guests.
  • Assist servers as needed with food delivery, especially during peak periods.
  • Thank guests as they leave and be available to fill in as needed to ensure smooth and efficient restaurant operations.
Requirements:
  • 1-2 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a high-volume restaurant or resort setting.
  • Superior customer service skills, with a professional and warm demeanor.
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and work well under pressure, with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to follow directions and perform responsibilities as described, with a flexible and adaptable work approach.
  • Good communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with the ability to use good safety awareness and sound judgment.
  • Willingness to work flexible schedules, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
