Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Lead Veterinary Technician to join our Insourcing Solutions team in Boston, MA.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement SOPs for animal care and handling
  • Train and oversee veterinary technicians in animal assessments, basic techniques, and equipment monitoring
  • Provide technical skills training to the research community on animal handling, restraint, and sample collection
  • Coordinate veterinary technical staff to ensure adequate coverage for animal health reports
  • Conduct routine audits of animal holding rooms and procedure spaces to ensure animal health and well-being
  • Perform daily clinical observations, health examinations, and provide treatments per SOP
  • Ensure and maintain veterinary records, including sentinel health reports and drug log audits
  • Contribute to preventative animal health and animal surveillance programs
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in animal science or equivalent
  • 2-4 years related rodent care and handling experience
  • Veterinary technical skills in a research setting
  • AALAS certification at the Laboratory Animal Technician level (LAT) or higher, CVT/LVT preferred
