We are seeking an experienced Milieu Counselor to join our team at our CHA Somerville Campus.

The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams in an inpatient psychiatric setting.

This is a full-time position offering a competitive salary of approximately $**$54,000 - $63,000 per year**, depending on experience. Benefits include comprehensive health insurance, retirement savings plan, paid time off, and opportunities for professional growth and development.

Job Description

The Milieu Counselor is a vital member of our multidisciplinary team, responsible for providing a safe and structured environment for patients in crisis.

Duties include:

  • Assisting with daily living activities, such as bathing, laundry, and toileting
  • Leading or co-leading groups to promote socialization and skill-building
  • Conducting 1:1 meetings with patients to assess their needs and develop individualized plans
  • Accurately charting patient vital signs and documenting intake and output

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this position, you will need:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent required; B.A., B.S., or M.A. preferred
  • Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Prior human services, behavioral, or psychiatric experience strongly preferred
