Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with patients undergoing behavioral or mental health crises, employing verbal and non-verbal de-escalation techniques to alleviate stress.
  • Utilize Crisis Prevention Institute physical techniques when necessary to manage aggressive behavior and ensure safety.
  • Respond promptly to various incidents, including code responses, safety escorts, and medical emergencies, to maintain a secure atmosphere.
  • Document and communicate all security incidents or service requests effectively.
  • Implement protocols and emergency response procedures to safeguard patients, families, and staff.

Required Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree in Criminal Justice or a related field, with at least one year of relevant experience in Security Services, Public Safety, or Law Enforcement; or three years of equivalent experience may substitute for formal education.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification within 90 days of hire.
  • CPI Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NCI) Certification within 90 days of hire (annual requirement).
  • Completion of required training modules within 12 months of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in security services within a behavioral health or hospital setting.
  • Valid Washington State Driver's License with an acceptable driving record.
  • Certifications in Crime Prevention through Environmental Design (CPTED) and International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS) Basic Certification.

Compensation: The hourly wage for this position is $37.64, with variations based on experience and qualifications.
