Your Role

As the Embedded Software Engineering Manager, you will be at the forefront of guiding and nurturing teams focused on embedded software design and testing. This position requires a blend of leadership and hands-on involvement. Key responsibilities include:
  • Direct and mentor teams engaged in embedded software design and testing, including collaboration with the offshore testing team, ensuring timely and high-quality outputs.
  • Strategically plan and execute embedded software projects, managing priorities and resource allocation effectively.
  • Oversee the development of embedded software solutions for electronic systems, ensuring adherence to safety regulations and standards.
  • Supervise the formulation and implementation of comprehensive testing strategies, advocating for automation and efficient defect management.
  • Collaborate with various departments, suppliers, and partners to meet organizational objectives.
  • Provide technical guidance and foster professional growth among team members.
  • Design and implement innovative solutions, conduct engineering analyses, and address field-related challenges.
  • Establish and uphold standards for embedded software design and testing methodologies.
  • Develop a robust embedded software testing strategy aligned with industry best practices.
  • Implement effective defect tracking systems to ensure prompt issue resolution.
  • Balance managerial duties with individual contributions to projects.
Qualifications

To thrive and advance your career with The Toro Company, candidates should possess the following qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (mandatory).
  • Master's degree in Engineering, Engineering Management, or Business Management (preferred).
  • 10+ years of experience in embedded software development with practical product design and testing (required).
  • 5+ years of supervisory experience (preferred).
  • 6+ years of experience in embedded software development with hands-on product design and testing (required).
  • 2 years of supervisory experience (preferred).
  • In-depth knowledge of hardware-software integration (required).
  • Experience with intricate electrical, mechanical, and software design for embedded systems (required).
  • Proficient in developing product specifications and system engineering (required).
  • Expertise in various testing methodologies: functional, regression, performance, usability, and security (required).
  • Experience with continuous improvement in testing automation practices (required).
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong customer focus and ability to anticipate needs.
  • Capability to mentor team members and guide their development.
  • Meticulous attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Results-oriented, proactive, and demonstrating a high level of integrity.
