The Creative Planning Tax Manager is responsible for delivering high-quality tax services to external clients, managing engagement scheduling, and contributing to process improvement initiatives within the firm's CPA Services Department. This role involves planning, supervising, and performing reviews for business and individual returns, ensuring exceptional client service through technical expertise and business development skills.
Key Responsibilities- Manage client relationships, expectations, and workflow to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Identify and present tax savings opportunities to clients, fostering a strategic advisory relationship.
- Engage in client discussions on tax-related topics, providing timely and accurate responses.
- Develop and execute a networking strategy to meet new prospects and maintain industry focus.
- Communicate effectively with staff to promote a positive learning environment and ensure open communication.
- Manage multiple deadlines and maintain current knowledge on accounting standards, providing training to team members.
- Participate in related meetings and contribute to the firm's financial management, including billing, AR, budgets, time reporting, engagement, and profitability.
- 8+ years of tax experience.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field.
- CPA certification.
- Master's degree in tax or finance (strongly recommended).
- Proficiency in MS Office, particularly financial modeling and data management in Excel.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
