Job Summary:

The Commonwealth of Virginia seeks a highly skilled and experienced professional to serve as the Director of Student-Athlete Support Services. This key leadership position will be responsible for providing academic support and guidance to NCAA Division I student-athletes at Radford University.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement academic support programs and services for student-athletes, including academic advising, tutoring, and career planning.
  • Collaborate with the Athletics Compliance office to ensure compliance with NCAA, Big South, and Radford University rules and regulations.
  • Provide education and training to student-athletes on NCAA rules and regulations, as well as academic and eligibility standards.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of academic support programs and services, making recommendations for improvement as needed.
  • Supervise and support the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) organization.

Requirements:

  • Advanced degree or training in a related field, such as education or student affairs.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse student-athletes, faculty, and staff.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Experience working with student-athletes in higher education, preferably in a NCAA Division I setting.
  • Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations, as well as experience using the LSDBI system for NCAA initial eligibility.
