Job Responsibilities- Provide Comprehensive Patient Care: Deliver prompt and effective medical care to patients experiencing a wide range of emergencies and acute illnesses in the emergency department.
- Conduct Thorough Assessments: Conduct thorough patient assessments, including history taking, physical examinations, and diagnostic tests to inform treatment decisions.
- Diagnose and Stabilize Patients: Diagnose and stabilize patients with life-threatening conditions, utilizing your expertise in emergency medicine principles and practices.
- Develop Treatment Plans: Develop and implement treatment plans for various acute medical and surgical emergencies, taking into account patient needs and preferences.
- Perform Emergency Procedures: Perform emergency procedures such as suturing, wound care, and splinting as needed, ensuring patient safety and well-being.
- Order and Interpret Diagnostic Tests: Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including X-rays and CT scans, to guide treatment decisions and inform patient care.
- Prescribe Medications: Prescribe medications and manage pain effectively, taking into account patient medical history and current health status.
- Communicate Effectively: Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care and optimal patient outcomes.
- Document Patient Care: Document patient care accurately and thoroughly in the medical record, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational standards.
- Education: Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school.
- Certification: Board certification in emergency, internal, or family medicine by the American Board of Emergency Medicine (ABEM), the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM), the American Board of Family Medicine, or the American Osteopathic Association (AOA).
- License: Active and unrestricted medical license in the state of practice.
- Experience: At least one year of experience working in an emergency department setting, with a strong track record of providing high-quality patient care and contributing to a positive and efficient work environment.
