The Automotive Technician is responsible for the daily operations of fleet upkeep; collaborating with various departments to ensure the maintenance and repair of vehicles. This role involves executing skilled tasks related to the servicing, repair, and upkeep of a diverse range of Zerorez equipment and vehicles. The technician will manage the inventory and procurement of necessary parts, tools, and supplies, while also developing and distributing work assignments to ensure timely completion. Additionally, this position includes maintaining databases, preparing reports, and supervising other maintenance staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage in the inspection, diagnosis, and repair of Zerorez vehicles and equipment for both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance.
  • Procure necessary parts and equipment for repairs; maintain an accurate inventory of supplies.
  • Verify the accuracy of invoices and ensure that appropriate inventory levels are maintained.
  • Conduct inspections and tests on repaired equipment to ensure proper functionality.
  • Oversee and participate in tune-ups for vehicles and equipment; troubleshoot and perform preventative maintenance.
  • Respond to road service calls and perform repairs in the field; engage in welding, fabrication, and repairs of shop equipment.
  • Assist in diagnosing, repairing, and replacing components such as electrical systems, computerized ignition, fuel systems, hydraulic systems, and related components.
  • Maintain comprehensive records for fleet services; review documentation for accuracy and update records as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience as an Automotive Technician.
  • High School diploma or GED is required.
  • Possession of a personal set of tools is mandatory.
  • Experience in data organization, report preparation, and statistical analysis.
  • Familiarity with safety protocols and practices.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Compensation: Competitive hourly wage ranging from $20 to $30.
