Position Overview

Garmin Aviation is on the lookout for an Aviation Systems Test Engineer 2 to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will engage directly with Garmin's Integrated Flight Deck, evaluating groundbreaking and life-saving technologies, including our innovative Emergency Autoland feature, set to transform general aviation.

Key Responsibilities

This position will challenge you to devise novel and effective testing strategies for cutting-edge Avionics functionalities during their development phase.

You will collaborate closely with Garmin's clientele and internal software teams to ensure that all requirements are accurately executed.

  • Provide comprehensive system testing support for the developmental requirements of OEM programs.
  • Communicate the status and schedule of system testing needs related to upcoming deliveries.
  • Offer constructive feedback to development teams to ensure that solutions align with system testing requirements.
  • Deliver troubleshooting assistance to pinpoint the root causes of system issues.
  • Document and communicate observed issues with sufficient detail for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Identify and implement enhancements to system testing processes and tools.
  • Modify tools for improved efficiency in system testing.
  • Develop reliable solutions to a variety of challenges using effective problem-solving techniques.
Basic Qualifications

A Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related discipline, along with a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Excellent academic performance (cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher is generally expected).

Demonstrated knowledge of several complex integrated avionic functions.

Proficiency in relevant tools for system testing.

Advanced troubleshooting capabilities.

Understanding of simulator qualification requirements.

Desired Qualifications
  • Exceptional academic performance (cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher).
  • Prior work or internship experience with consumer or aviation products.
