Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate head golf coach to join our team at Minnetonka Public Schools. As a key member of our athletic department, you will be responsible for leading the boys golf team and promoting a culture of excellence, sportsmanship, and teamwork.

About the Role
  • Plan, organize, and execute team practices and competitions, ensuring a safe and engaging environment for all players.
  • Recruit, retain, and develop talented golfers, fostering a sense of belonging and camaraderie within the team.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Activities to manage team budgets, schedules, and resources, ensuring effective use of time and money.
  • Maintain accurate records, including player eligibility, attendance, and injury reports, adhering to state and district regulations.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and community members, providing regular updates and feedback.
Responsibilities
  • Lead team meetings, strategy sessions, and practice sessions, promoting a culture of respect, accountability, and teamwork.
  • Develop and implement game plans, tactics, and drills to enhance player performance and team success.
  • Maintain accurate records, including player statistics, attendance, and injury reports.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Activities to manage team logistics, scheduling, and budgeting, ensuring effective use of resources.
  • Foster strong relationships with students, parents, and community members through open communication and regular updates.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; coaching certification or experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of golf rules, regulations, and best practices.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information discreetly.
